Spring Impressions in Watercolour, Intro-adv, Thurs, 10 am - 1 pm
This course takes place at the Beaverbrook Community Centre: 4 Beaverbrook Rd, Kanata, ON K2K 1L1

Let’s explore the joy of creating expressive, rich watercolour paintings. The instructor will help you loosen up and teach various aspects of watercolour: colour mixing, brush techniques, washes & glazes, lifting, special effects through textures and help you improve your sense of colour & design.  The instructor will show how to unleash watercolour and achieve a loose, painterly quality in work while painting a variety of subjects, from many faces of the winter season, to expressive florals, rocks, trees, water, people, architecture, etc. There will be use of some other mediums like pastels, ink pens & different papers along with the watercolours. There will be step by step demos and individual guidance will be provided. The course is open to beginners as well as students with some experience!

Drawing with Expression II, ages 13 - 15: Sat, 1 - 4 pm
This course takes place at the Beaverbrook Community Centre: 4 Beaverbrook Rd, Kanata, ON K2K 1L1

Being an artist requires a mix of skill, creativity and most important; curiosity. In this course, students will be exposed to technical drawing methods as well as exercises drawing from imagination. Students will explore element of drawing, new media, watercolour and get experience with different grounds and mediums, all while learning to hear the artist's voice within themselves. Space is also made for students' individual requests, to allow for an individualized experience in a group environment. From traditional drawing methods to contemporary, students are exposed to a variety of methods, allowing them to better understand their own interests and their own place in the arts.
