The portraits will be painted from a male model and a female model (long poses).
This workshop includes mini lectures on the traditional painting techniques and materials, a facial anatomy, and color mixing.
Ongoing individual guidance will be provided according to the students' particular needs.

In this 2 day session we will focus on the newest techniques in Mixed Media. Focusing on using new and unusual materials, students will be guided into expanding their knowledge of street art methods that are so popular today on the hot art scene. All must provide laser photos for Photo Transfer Techniques. We will also learn application of gold leaf, usage of many gels and texture mediums, proper ways of applying collage and decoupage and much more! We will begin by discussing the history of Mixed Media, current artists on the scene, local and international and all the wonderful techniques and tricks of the trade.

We will work on a pressed wood board ($25.00 to be paid directly to the instructor on the first session) and learn proper preparation for 3 D artwork. Students can expect to complete a frame-worthy piece within the 2 day session. Lots of fun, highly inspiring and a true keepsake.

Whether you want to learn the basics, refine your current abilities or continue after the anatomy course. This workshop employs the classical drawing theories and exercises practiced during the 19th century studios and ateliers of the Renaissance period. The focus will be for students to comprehend and draw/ master rendering a 3 dimensional object on a 2 dimensional surface, white and toned paper.

This workshop employs the classical drawing theories and exercises originally practiced during the 19th century schools and ateliers of the Renaissance period. The focus will be on how to draw the human head with the purpose of better portraiture. This workshop is for those whose interest is on the basics, for getting a likeness, a complement the anatomy course or simply to refine your current abilities.

This is a fun and informative class! In the first project participants will learn how to make silver earrings, to mix resin to add a pop of colour to them and how to create a variety of ear wires. The second project will concentrate on forming wire and creating charms by using a variety of shot plates.

Composition and Mark-Making in Intermedia, Sat & Sun, 9 am - 4 pm
Register In this open-level workshop, participants will be guided through the process of selecting imagery, exploring mark-making & composition in preparatory sketches, and using these to create a one-of-a-kind mixed media piece. Play with light, depth and texture will all be encouraged through the use of twirling and layering string, fabric, and other found objects. Wet and dry media will be used so prepare to get messy and engage your visual and tactile senses. Experienced artists and beginners all welcome.
