Tips From Modern Artists: Drawing and Painting Emphasis, ages 6 - 7, Sat, 10 am - 12 pm
These hand on art courses are designed to assist children, in a positive and fun environment to develop their artistic expression over 3 separate sessions.
In each term children will explore various materials such as clay, ink, charcoal and paint. They will learn to expand on their skills in specific artistic media. During each term we will look for inspiration, both indoors and outdoors from Modern masters such as Picasso, Kandinsky, Matisse, Faffard, Henri Moore and many others. 
A visit to the National Art gallery and one session with the model are included.

FULL: Creatures Real and Imagined: Painting and Printmaking Emphasis, ages 6 - 7, Sat, 1:30 - 3:30 pm
We will learn about that are mythical or that belong in the real world from stories and myths. (Dragons, dinosaurs, sea monsters, 4 headed creatures.)Then we will use various painting techniques, using tempura and watercolour paints. We will also use various printmaking techniques to create a book of creatures. We may make up our own stories.

The Art of the Cities of Europe: Clay and Collage Emphasis, 8 - 9 years, Sat, 10 am - 12 pm
Students will be introduced to artists such as Chagall, Kandinsky, Hunderwasser. They will use collage techniques to interpret and be inspired by their colourful art. We will learn about their art and their influence. Students will use clay to make European influenced architectures such as French fountains, English castles and cathedrals, and ridges.

Express Yourself: Drawing and Painting, ages 10 - 12, Sat, 1 - 3:30 pm
Students will create indoor and outdoor (weather permitting) projects in variety materials while sharpening their observation skills. Each class will be set up with either a model or still life and students will built and expand on existing painting and drawings skills. Students will be using charcoal, pastels, acrylics ink and watercoulours while getting inspired by the art and philosophy of iconic modern artists such as Peter Doig, Paul Klee, Piet Mondrian Hanri Matisse and many others. 
A visit to the National Art gallery and 1 session with the model are included.

Cartooning and Animation: Drawing and Illustration, Ages 10 - 12, Sat, 9:30 am - 12 pm
These courses are for students at all skill levels that need to draw and write seriously. They will learn and practice writing and drawing techniques and discover cartooning and comic book secrets. Students will apply their creativity to the production of comic strips, gag panels, caricatures, illustrations, and the development of personal projects.
Each season will include a lesson on drawing hands (realistic and cartoon), tips on writing and storytelling for comic books, and the production of a class magazine collecting original projects by the students.

Ces cours sont accessibles aux élèves de tous les niveaux d’habileté qui prennent au sérieux leur dessin et écriture. Les élèves apprendront et pratiqueront les techniques du scénario et du dessin et ils découvriront les secrets de la bande dessinée. Les élèves feront preuve de créativité en réalisant des planches de bandes dessinées, des cases à farces, caricatures, illustrations, et en développant leurs projets personnels.
Chaque saison il y aura une leçon sur comment dessiner les mains (réalistes et caricatures), des conseils au sujet de la rédaction et la scénaristique pour BD, et la réalisation d’une revue contenant les projets personnels des participants.

Build Your Portfolio: Artists You Should Know: Mixed Media, ages 13 - 15, Sat, 9 am - 12 pm
Improve your artistic skills and increase your knowledge of art history by looking at the masters. Perfect your ability to render shading and volume in both still life and the portrait. Expand your ability to draw gestures/quick sketches of the human figure. Explore working in 3D in wax, plaster and ceramic. Study various painting techniques in ink, watercolour and acrylic, and implement them in your own work. 1 session with a model and a drawing session at the National Gallery included.

These courses are designed for students at all skill levels who want to draw seriously. Students will learn and practice drawing techniques and discover cartooning and animated cartoon secrets. Students will apply their creativity to the production of comic strips, gag panels, caricatures, illustrations, animated cartoons (hand-drawn and stop-motion techniques) and comic pages.
Each season includes lessons on drawing hands (realistic and cartoon-style), the human figure and animal characters.

Ces cours sont accessibles aux élèves de tous les niveaux d’habileté qui veulent dessiner de façon sérieuse. Les élèves apprendront et pratiqueront les techniques du dessin et ils découvriront les secrets de la BD et du dessin animé.
