Tips From Modern Artists: Clay/Collage Emphasis: Ages 6 - 7, Sat, 10 am - 12 pm
F18DC01B: These hands on art courses are designed to assist children, in a positive and fun environment to develop their artistic expression over 3 separate sessions.
In each term children will explore various materials such as clay, ink, charcoal and paint. They will learn to expand on their skills in specific artistic media. During each term we will look for inspiration, both indoors and outdoors from modern masters such as Picasso, Morandi, Mondrian, and Kandinsky.
A visit to the National Art gallery and one session with the model are included.

FULL: Two Phosphorescent Leonardos: Drawing and painting: Ages 10 - 12, Sat, 1:30 - 4 pm
F18DC02: Come and improve your drawing and painting skills, and learn about two giants in art: Leonardo da Vinci and Paul Klee; two artists who looked to the natural world to create their masterpieces. Projects will include observational drawing with crosshatching, painting mysterious rocky landscapes in watercolour, creating portraits in a Mona Lisa style and a “Senecio “abstract style. Focus will be on how each artist used colour and paint to create forms that phosphorus, magically, on canvas. Tour of the National Gallery (special exhibit: Paul Klee), and a session with a draped model.

Express Yourself Drawing and Painting: Drawing and Painting, Ages 13 - 15, Sat 1 - 4 pm
F18DT01: Students will create indoor class projects in variety materials while sharpening their observation skills. Each class will be set up with either a model or still life and students will built and expand on existing painting and drawings skills. Students will be using charcoal, pastels, acrylics and oils while getting inspired by the art and philosophy of iconic modern artists such as Klimpt, Kandinsky, Morandi, Rousseau, and Mondrian.

Comic Books and Cartooning, Ages 13 - 15, Sat 1 - 4 pm

These courses are for students at all skill levels that need to draw and write seriously. They will learn and practice writing and drawing techniques and discover cartooning and comic book secrets. Students will apply their creativity to the production of comic strips, gag panels, caricatures, illustrations, and the development of personal projects.

Each season will include a lesson on drawing hands (realistic and cartoon), tips on writing and storytelling for comic books, and the production of a class magazine collecting original projects by the students.

Ces cours sont accessibles aux élèves de tous les niveaux d’habileté qui prennent au sérieux leur dessin et écriture. Les élèves apprendront et pratiqueront les techniques du scénario et du dessin et ils découvriront les secrets de la bande dessinée. Les élèves feront preuve de créativité en réalisant des planches de bandes dessinées, des cases à farces, caricatures, illustrations, et en développant leurs projets personnels.

Chaque saison il y aura une leçon sur comment dessiner les mains (réalistes et caricatures), des conseils au sujet de la rédaction et la scénaristique pour BD, et la réalisation d’une revue contenant les projets personnels des participants.
