Abracadabra Alakazam - Creating Interest with a Flick of My Hand: Silkscreen, ages 13 - 15; Mon - Fri, 9 am - 4 pm, start date: 07/10/2023
Register We all have things that interest us like: music, animals, sports, gaming etc. Transforming your interests into words and images that you can wear and display proudly will be our goal. Silk-screening allows you to conjure an image that is as funny or serious as you want. It can be colourful or not. Either way together we will make it look good.
The process of creating a unique and interesting silk-screen print on a t-shirt, a pair of pants, a thrifted jacket, a pillow case, or my favourite…your dad’s finest suit, is a fun skill that you can use for the rest of your life. Very simple drawings, or very complicated ones, can be turned into wonderful designs and beautiful finished prints.
Learn to turn your ideas, (with the help of reference material chosen by you in the OSA computer room) into great visuals for yourself, a friend, or as a gift. Do Not Worry About Your Drawing Ability! All levels of drawing ability as well as styles are easily transformed into something valuable through the magic of silk-screen.

Intro to Digital Photography, Ages 13 - 15; Mon - Fri, 9 am - 4 pm, start date: 08/08/2023
Register The course is designed to appeal to young photographers who own a digital camera or use their iPhone. We will simplify your technical choices in terms of file size, type and use of various exposure modes. We will concentrate on subject, light and composition in class room critiques. Throughout the week, the day will be divided into outdoor excursions, improving their photographs in various software and sharing their photos on social media. On Thursday, students will select their favourite three photographs of the week and make inkjet 11x14” enlargements for a class presentation. Beyond prints on a wall, we will also highlight the use of Instagram as a tool to share the photos with others. Our objective is that all students will improve the visual quality of the photographs they produce.
