Lithography: Anna Trojanowska

The Form of Adaptation_1
Lithograph on Marble, 2019

I focus on the familiar code – the light/object/dark relationship.
In the world that we know objects always exist in an extremely consistent relationship – light/object/dark. In the presence of light and dark we are able to read shapes, distances, forms and their mutual relationships. The light/dark relationship is always absolutely precise and perfectly consistent.
But what if we deliberately separate the elements of this system? If we treat the object, light and dark as independent components? Will inexistent objects cast real, material shadows and will the rhythm and direction of light in the same system be deliberately distributed?
In my lithographs I describe compositions and spaces using the gap in the code.
