Brief Biography
Rosanne has always had an interest in art having studied at the Ottawa School of Art, Alberta School of Art and Design, and summer classes painting in the park as a child in Winnipeg. Currently she is drawn to larger canvases using acrylics. Watercolours are also an important medium for her. She has been involved in the field of education as a teacher and in management in her working career, but creating art continues to be an important part of her life. She hopes she can do more and more…..
Artist Statement
Painting plants and nature scenes reveal beauty and detail that can be studied and enjoyed. Detailed images of plants and berries are a favourite subject. The complexity and beauty of the ordinary around us in nature is a great subject and the paintings help to remember the beauty of summer. My sensitivity to colour and detail were greatly nurtured by a watercolour course at the OSA a while back. It’s great to be able to create and share art featuring the plants along the parkway where I like to walk and enjoy the bountiful beauty.
