Photographic imagery of Newfoundland | Mike Stenson

The Minto Suites Hotel exhibition space is located at 187 Lyon St. north, just at the beginning of the concourse on the main floor.  These display case measures 53” in height, 191” in length, and 14” in depth and offers access to a high traffic up scale business and vacation traveler clientele.

Biography

Mike Stenson

Mike Stenson is a visual artist, living in Rockland, Ontario. He has worked for many years in watercolour and oil and, in recent years, has focused on photography. Initially Mike used his camera to capture images that he would later render in one or more of the other media. However, of late, Mike has been travelling the World and expressing his art exclusively through the lens.

Artist Statement

I am fascinated by play of light, shadow and colour on vistas that I encounter on my travels throughout Canada and around the World. Seldom without my camera, I explore areas in an attempt to find unique perspectives. I select my subjects not only based on how they please my eye but also on how they play on all of my senses. My ultimate goal is to capture an image, and to simultaneously record the moods, tastes, smells and textures that the image conveys – to transport and to totally engross the viewer in the moment.
