From March 1 to April 16, the Great Canadian Theatre Company (GCTC) and The Ottawa School of Art (OSA) will present Dual Perceptions, a dual artist exhibit featuring the work of artist Debbie Sleeman and Charmaine Swain at the Lorraine “Fritzi” Yale Gallery. A vernissage, with an opportunity to meet the artists, will take place Tuesday, March 1st from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

With a shared commitment to showcase the work of established and emerging local artists, the Ottawa School of Art and Great Canadian Theatre Company have partnered to present exhibits featuring Ottawa visual artists in the “Fritzi” Gallery throughout the 2015-16 season.

“GCTC is home to many performing artists, but we also believe in the visual arts,” says Artistic Director Eric Coates. “This gallery is a gorgeous space for our partners at The Ottawa School of Art to make a bold statement about their work, their artists and their values. We are thrilled that we have found yet another partnership in Ottawa’s arts community.”

Sleeman and Swain are Ottawa-based artists using the mediums of acrylic paints, kiln formed glass and mixed media painting and printmaking, respectively.
“Our vision in Dual Perceptions circles around the exploration of materials and processes in response to our northern landscape environment,” say the artists in a joint statement. “The interplay of different techniques complements each other’s work allowing the art to speak with its own voice.”
