Group Statement

“Moments: A Visual Journey” is an art show that celebrates the beauty of fleeting moments frozen in time. Through a variety of mediums, three artists explore the profound impact of brief instances, revealing the intricate stories they tell. From a solitary moment on a bench to a sunbeam in the forest, this exhibition invites viewers to ponder the significance of the present moment.

 

Beata Jakubek, Artist Bio:

Beata Jakubek, an Ottawa-based visual artist, draws her inspiration from nature and travels. During her two-year stay in Japan, Beata studied ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement. Instead of haphazardly tossing flowers into a vase, she learned to organise them with an eye toward harmony and balance. Now she strives for the same kind of unity in her paintings. Her artworks are colourful and poetic, radiating tranquillity and calmness. Several of her paintings won prestigious art awards and many of them are in private collections.

Isabelle Jérôme, Artist Bio:

Isabelle Jérôme is an award-winning artist from Ottawa. With a lifelong affinity for the arts, she has ventured into various mediums—graphite, acrylics, and soapstone—before finding her passion with watercolour’s transparency, accessibility, and challenges. Though mostly self-taught, she enjoys painting intricate subjects and draws inspiration from nature and everyday life. Actively engaged in the art scene, she affiliates with various local organisations and galleries. Her work has graced juried exhibitions and found its place in private collections across the globe. Her interpretation of “Moments: A Visual Journey”: capturing life’s essence with various moments of leisure.

Luminita Serbanescu, Artist Bio:

Luminita was born in Transylvania, and was an artist from childhood. With a successful career in architecture, she relocated to Canada in 1980. Painting is her central focus. She exhibits in solo shows at various eateries, community hubs, and has been included in group shows at prestigious galleries. Luminita has illustrated books published in Canada and abroad, and her paintings are in private collections all over the world. Luminita’s art conveys themes of human character, nature, wildlife, environment peril, climate shift, and hope. In this show, she is capturing a moment in the life of people seeing themselves as unique.

« Moments : A Visual Journey » (Moments : Un voyage visuel) est une exposition d’art qui célèbre la beauté des instants éphémères figés dans le temps. Au moyen d’une variété de médiums, trois artistes explorent l’impact profond des brefs instants de la vie, révélant les histoires complexes qu’ils racontent. Entre un moment de solitude sur un banc et un rayon de soleil dans la forêt, cette exposition invite le spectateur à réfléchir sur la signification du moment présent.

 

Beata Jakubek – Artistes Bio:

Beata Jakubek, une artiste visuelle basée à Ottawa, puise son inspiration dans la nature et les voyages. Durant son séjour de deux ans au Japon, Beata a étudié l’ikebana, l’art floral japonais. Plutôt que de disposer des fleurs au hasard dans un vase, elle a appris à les organiser avec un souci d’harmonie et d’équilibre. Aujourd’hui, elle s’efforce d’obtenir le même type d’unité dans ses peintures. Ses œuvres colorées et poétiques rayonnent de tranquillité et de calme. Plusieurs de ses peintures ont remporté des prix d’art prestigieux et beaucoup d’entre elles font partie de collections privées.

Isabelle Jérôme – Artistes Bio:

Isabelle Jérôme est une artiste primée d’Ottawa. Ayant une affinité pour les arts depuis toujours, elle a exploré divers médiums (graphite, acrylique et stéatite) avant de se passionner pour la transparence, l’accessibilité et les défis de l’aquarelle. Bien qu’autodidacte, elle aime peindre des sujets complexes et s’inspire de la nature et de la vie quotidienne. Activement engagée sur la scène artistique, elle s’affilie à diverses organisations et galeries locales. Son travail a fait l’objet d’expositions avec jury et a trouvé sa place dans des collections privées du monde entier. Son interprétation de « Moments : A Visual Journey » (Moments : Un voyage visuel) : capturer l’essence de la vie et de divers moments de loisir.

Luminita Serbanescu – Artistes Bio:

Luminita est née en Transylvanie et est artiste depuis son enfance. Forte d’une carrière florissante en architecture, elle a déménagé au Canada en 1980. La peinture constitue son intérêt principal. Elle présente des expositions solos dans divers restaurants et centres communautaires et a fait partie d’expositions collectives dans des galeries prestigieuses. Luminita a illustré des livres publiés au Canada et à l’étranger, et ses peintures font partie de collections privées partout dans le monde. L’art de Luminita évoque les thèmes du caractère humain, de la nature, de la faune, du péril environnemental, du changement climatique et de l’espoir. Dans cette exposition, elle capture un moment dans l’existence de personnes qui se considèrent comme uniques.
