The Ottawa School of Art (OSA) is proud to feature the work of Mallory Hanes, Jacqueline Mudie, Shelby Noonan, Anne Scanlan, Joel Secter
The artworks in this exhibition have been created by five artists with diverse backgrounds in terms of career, age, geographical origins and experiences. The common ground they all share at this point in their lives is they have all chosen to enroll and work towards completing the three year Fine Art Diploma program at the Ottawa School of Art. In doing so, they’ve embarked on a journey of discovering and nurturing their creative energy; of broadening their perspectives and of striving for a higher level of artistic achievement and accomplishment.

Through a well-defined program based on an orderly progression of knowledge and skills, OSA students are exposed to a high level of quality instruction provided by practicing professional artists as well as essential support from administration staff at OSA. Other facets of assisting these students in becoming successful emerging artists lies in the collaboration with various community partners such as the Lorraine ‘Fritzi’ Yale Gallery and Don Monet from Cube Gallery. The ‘Fritzi’ Gallery provides a wonderful opportunity for OSA diploma students to exhibit their work in a beautiful professional gallery space and Don Monet generously gives of his time to engage the exhibiting students in valuable dialogue about their work and other important topics related to achieving a successful career in visual arts.
As we view this diverse exhibit of artworks, we get to be observers and appraisers as we study what each artist presents. – Cathy Brake, Gallery Coordinator, OSA
