ARTIST STATEMENT
Art is a universal language. I believe I am addressing everyone with my images!
Who did not dream of flying?
I wanted to fly since I was two years old. Always strived to go up. To the sky, towards the sun.
Light is life!
I see myself in the huge open wings of the Osprey, in the Cormorant flying above the turbulent
waters, in the kids opening their arms and hoping the wind will take them up, up, up. I feel it
lifting me.
I am interested in different other themes, also; most important about the dangers to the
environment and survival of wild life.
Most of my paintings are nature scenes. In nature you see continuous renewal and
unparalleled joy!
We need nature for our peace of mind, sanity and survival.
A green world of peace and quiet, where we feel free and safe. And we could look up and
dream of flying.
The images asking to come out from my brushes are a celebration of life.

BIOGRAPHY
Luminita was born in Transylvania and was involved in art since early years. A degree in architecture and a life changing relocation to Canada in search of freedom followed. Raising a son, working to make a small business successful, she still finds time for art. An art gallery owner, in Ottawa, artist himself, saw a potential and offered an invitation in his gallery. And so it started. Solo art shows in restaurants, cafes, community centres, etc. rewarded hard work and permanent striving to improve her art. Participation in several group shows opened up as a member of prestigious galleries and art associations: Foyer Gallery, Koyman Galleries, West Carleton Art Society, Ottawa School of Art, Nepean Fine Arts, Glebe Fine Arts Association, Art Lending of Ottawa, etc. Illustrations for poetry books published in Canada, Australia, Romania and art Collectors in Europe, USA, Australia, New Zeeland and Canada enrich experience and bring satisfaction. Luminita’s art will talk about joy of flying, mighty nature, the dangers to the environment and wild life, and always about hope.
