Artist Statement

Bliss¹

Noun: Perfect happiness; great joy.

Synonyms: joy, pleasure, delight, happiness, gladness, ecstasy, elation, rapture, euphoria, heaven, paradise.

Bliss – it means different things to different people. These paintings represent my bliss. It is a place of warmth and water. To me it is serenity, peace and home. I feel bliss for the first time when I am there, and for the second time when I paint it. I urge you to discover your bliss whether it’s a place, an activity or simply a state of being.

Biography

Charlene Walker is a visual artist living in Ottawa She paints the natural world, breathing calm into chaos. She focuses on acrylic landscape painting, incorporating texture and strong colour. She has been showing her work in various galleries and collections around Ottawa since 2007.
