The Ottawa School of Art is proud to present the work of Diploma Student:
Carol Brodkin-Sang
The Ottawa School of Art presents new works by Diploma Student Carol Brodkin-Sang. Montréal born and raised, Carol holds a B.SC from McGill University, Montréal; a Fine Arts degree from York University, Toronto and is currently completing a Fine Arts Diploma program at the Ottawa School of Art.
Carol’s artistic career had largely centered on figurative painting but her focus has recently turned to abstraction. Using the subject of Hockey, Carol’s paintings offer layers of rich, vibrant colours reflecting the action, speed, force, noise, and excitement of the game. Likewise, her skillfully rendered drawings relay the same urgent sense of mood and movement.
Carol’s Brodkin-Sang’s paintings hang in a number of homes in Montréal, and the Ottawa area.
“After attending three hockey games during the winter of 2015 – 16, I realized that this sport is not just a game; it is a passion, a way of life for many individuals. Here was an opportunity for me to transform this revelation into art and offer this vision to the public” – Carol Brodkin-Sang, Artist
