Lenka Cutler is an Ottawa-based figurative painter. A diploma student of the Ottawa School of Art and a graduate of the University of Windsor, she works in a variety of media including charcoal, acrylic, and water-based oil. Her paintings explore the connection between living beings and the natural and human-made landscapes that they inhabit.
Bison are immensely powerful animals. Their odd and angular shape stands in stark contrast to the flat landscape that they typically inhabit. My paintings explore how bison interact with each other and their environment, through line, form, and colour.
