Our COVID-19 Precautions for Safe Classes & Exhibitions

Here are the measures we are taking to ensure that our students, instructors, models and staff members are safe when they enter our space:

Self-screening

  • All visitors, students, instructors and staff are to self-screen at home prior to coming to the school
  • Anyone who displays symptoms of COVID-19 when arriving at the school or in class will be sent home
  • Children and Teen’s will require an email sent to info@artottawa.ca 30 minutes before their class stating their temperature is normal and they are symptom free each day they are attending class (anyone who has not sent in an email will be screened by staff at the front door and must be accompanied by their parent/guardian)
  • All persons entering the school for more than 15 minutes will leave their name and contact information

Masks

  • Masks are mandatory for entering the school and must be worn throughout the building
  • Masks may be removed in classrooms if students are stationary and 2 metres apart from others
Reduced Room Capacity
  • Class sizes have been limited to ensure safe social distancing
  • The number of people allowed in any classroom, including the instructor is limited
  • The number of people allowed in the elevator together is limited
  • Appropriate signage posted
Limited Contact
  • Class start times have been staggered to limit the number of people entering the building at any time
  • The front staircase (downtown campus) the “Up” staircase; the back staircase the “Down” staircase
  • The number of people in washrooms (downtown) limited to conform with social distancing guidelines (“Occupied/Unoccupied” signs may be installed)
  • Sharing of materials be discouraged
  • Appropriate signage posted
Health & Hygiene
  • Frequent and proper hand-washing
  • Hand sanitizer dispensers posted on every floor and available for each classroom
  • Disposable masks available (it is recommended that students bring their own reusable masks)
  • Instructors and staff wear masks – especially in situations where maintaining a 2 meter distance cannot be guaranteed.
  • Increased disinfecting of commonly touched surfaces
  • Appropriate signage posted

*A special COVID-19 Safety Committee has been established and will monitor all safety measures taken to ensure that we can limit the risk of infection. OSA will be following all City of Ottawa Public Health guidelines.

 


Voici les mesures que nous prenons pour nous assurer que nos étudiants, instructeurs, modèles et membres du personnel sont en sécurité lorsqu’ils entrent dans notre espace:

Capacité de salle réduite
  • La taille des classes a été limitée pour assurer une distance sociale sûre
  • Le nombre de personnes autorisées dans une classe, y compris l’instructeur sera limité
  • Le nombre de personnes autorisées dans l’ascenseur sera limité
  • Une signalisation appropriée sera affichée
Contact limité
  • Les heures de début des cours ont été décalées pour limiter le nombre de personnes entrant dans le bâtiment à tout moment
  • L’escalier avant (campus du centre-ville) sera l’escalier “Up”; l’escalier arrière sera l’escalier “Down”
  • Le nombre de personnes dans les toilettes (centre-ville) sera limité pour se conformer aux directives de distanciation sociale (des panneaux “Occupé / Inoccupé” peuvent être installés)
  • Le partage de matériel sera découragé
  • Une signalisation appropriée sera affichée
Santé et hygiène
  • Lavage fréquent et adéquat des mains
  • Des distributeurs de désinfectant pour les mains seront affichés à chaque étage et disponibles pour chaque classe
  • Des masques jetables seront disponibles (il est recommandé aux élèves d’apporter leurs propres masques réutilisables)
  • Les instructeurs et le personnel porteront des masques – en particulier dans les situations où le maintien d’une distance de 2 mètres ne peut être garanti.
  • Désinfection accrue des surfaces couramment touchées
  • Une signalisation appropriée sera affichée

* Un comité spécial de sécurité COVID-19 a été créé et surveillera toutes les mesures de sécurité prises pour s’assurer que nous pouvons limiter le risque d’infection. L’ÉAO suivra toutes les directives de santé publique de la Ville d’Ottawa.
