Get ready to discover traditional and contemporary techniques of watercolour which promise expressive and exciting results! Here's the chance to explore Watercolours in depth through various exciting themes!
Starting from landscapes to seascapes, loose florals to a tight negative painting composition, an expressive still life composition to an interesting architectural view and figuratives – the course will cover a range of subjects in different approaches of watercolour painting.
Along with watercolours, some tools like inks, pens, markers, pastels, guache etc. will be used to create the character, mood of the place and interesting textural effects. Both – traditional and experimental styles of watercolour handling will be explored.

Introduction to Linocut, Intro: Wed, 1 - 3 pm
This print class introduces students to relief (linocut) printing techniques, enabling them to explore their own imagery through the versatility of print. Because linocut printing does not require toxic chemicals to create the plate, or a printing press to print, it is an ideal technique to develop at home. Working in black and white, students will explore expressive mark and pattern, the essence of linocut. Colour printing using chine coille will also be explored.

Register This course encourages the creation of imaginary worlds and amazing stories! Wild beasts, strange landscapes, odd characters and humorous adventures will be drawn out in a variety of media. Each class will offer perception exercises, drawing practice and illustration techniques. Projects will be completed in pencil, coloured pencil, oil pastel, watercolour, mixed media and collage. An original 6-panel illustrated adventure will be the result!

Watercolours lend themselves so well to the delicacy and form of flowers. We will spend a day painting flowers using a wet on wet technique, and a wet on dry technique. It would be good to have a basic knowledge of watercolours and colour, but not a necessity. The perfect way to spend a winter day!
