Experience painting a traditional flower of autumn and simple landscapes (mountains, water, trees, etc.). Elements of composition; a fun and often used, traditional method of creating mountains called the ‘wrinkled paper technique’; using ‘bad brushes’ to paint rough terrain. Beginners will learn the important fundamentals to produce simple, classic ink works in calligraphy and beginner-level subject painting. Those with previous experience will be encouraged to progress to more complex compositions. Each student can expect one-on-one assistance to advance along their painting journey. I hope you will join us!

Dare 2 Draw: How to Draw the Human Form, Intro-inter, Thurs, 6 - 9 pm, start date: 10/05/2023
Register
Figure drawing has been foundational to so much art especially since The Renaissance. It’s a practice that is continually renewing. This course will showcase how rewarding it can be in capturing the human form from summarizing it in a few gestures to exploring it at a deeper level. Greater confidence in rendering various poses will be achieved by the end of the course. This knowledge has served my continued passion for my own art and by extension will serve to ignite a passion for figurative art in my students as well.

Digital Photography: Portraiture, Intro-adv; Tues, 6 - 9 pm, start date: 10/17/2023
Register
The goals of a portrait are to provide an impression of a person's physical appearance and/or to reveal aspects of the person's identity.
The workshop aims to develop understandings and skills of Portrait Photography in order to be able to capture the identity, personality, and essence of (mainly!) people as subjects. The studies will primarily focus in two aspects: 1) photographic techniques such as composition, lighting, and posing; photos sessions and environments; 2) people skills to approach, interact and develop good portraits. This includes but it’s not limited to generosity, collaboration, empathy, trust and assertiveness.
The goal is to understand two basic principles in portraiture:
“The human first, the photographer second. “
“No two individuals are the same; no two photo sessions are the same”.
