These courses are designed for students at all skill levels who want to draw seriously. Students will learn and practice drawing techniques and discover cartooning and animated cartoon secrets. Students will apply their creativity to the production of comic strips, illustrations, animated cartoons (hand-drawn and stop-motion techniques) and comic pages.
Lessons will include how to draw hands (realistic and cartoon-style), the human figure and animal characters.

Ces cours sont accessibles aux élèves de tous les niveaux d’habileté qui veulent dessiner de façon sérieuse. Les élèves apprendront et pratiqueront les techniques du dessin et ils découvriront les secrets de la BD et du dessin animé. Les élèves feront preuve de créativité en réalisant des projets de bandes dessinées, illustrations, dessins animés et des planches de BD.
Il y aura des leçons sur comment dessiner les mains (naturelles et caricatures), la figure humaine et les animaux.

In this course students will develop a further understanding of painting and drawing techniques needed to create masterpieces.
Each session focuses on a specific artist or style and modern and contemporary artists, their artworks, and movements that continue to inspire us today. Students will be exploring a variety of materials like acrylics, oil pastels, watercolors pencils and clay as they create 2 and 3-dimensional artworks in a wide range of media.
Projects include drawing skills, color exploration with painting and mixed media.

Drawing with Max: Storytelling and The Graphic Novel, ages 11 - 14: Online, Sat, 9 am - noon
Be it superheroes or talking animals, comics and graphic novels are an industry that is growing at an incredible pace. The experience of telling a story through images captivates the senses and ignites our imaginations. Within the pages of graphic novels, everything is possible.
In this course we dive deep into the world of comic books. Through weekly lessons, students will be given the tools they need to create their own stories using this liberating medium.
Layouts, characterization, pacing, creating believable conflict, drawing from different points of view and more will be covered to help students bring their own stories to the page as well as technical drawing exercises like anatomy, facial expressions, tone, colour, landscape, world building, animals and much more. Lessons will focus on helping each artist develop their own personal artistic style and voice, while drawing and illustrating stories that are their own.

Let's Draw! | Ages 9-12 | Sun 1pm-3:30pm
Register Do you love to draw, and want to learn more techniques and tricks? In this class we will explore the fundamentals of drawing, and experiment with a wide range of materials including pencil, charcoal, pastels, and ink. We will also discover how artists throughout history have used drawings. A balance of technique and individual creativity will be promoted in this class. This course is open to new and returning students. (1 draped model)
