Figure Drawing Workshop - Online and at the OSA, Intro: Saturday, 10 am to 12 pm
Register This 4-lesson drawing workshop offers a comfortable and encouraging introduction to drawing the human figure. The first two lessons will be taught online to aid and give students a solid foundation in drawing the body. The last two lessons will bring everything we learned into the classroom where the instructor will guide students on drawing from the live model. This is perfect for beginner drawers who want to establish a foundation in rendering proper proportions, weight, and movement.

Supplies: For the first day you just need some pencils and sketchbook or loose paper. Optional: scrap cardboard (that can be easily cut), scissors or x-acto/utility knife and ruler.

I first encountered stop motion animation when I was 10 years old at a workshop it my local library. That workshop was run by a student from Sheridan College, one of the top animation schools in Canada, and we worked in super * film! Which means it took several weeks for the film to be developed and we didn't know what we had shot on camera until it came back and we edited it by cutting the film and taping it together! BUT for this class we will be using a free program called 'Blender and all the legos, marbles and items we can find around the house!

Perspective Drawing in the Byward Market, Intro-inter: Tues & Thurs, 6 - 9 pm
The Byward market is a visually diverse corner of the city. It offers artists a wealth of material to draw: from open streetscapes and courtyards to stylistic detail in historic and modern architecture. Understanding perspective and being able to depict manmade space is invaluable urban sketching. This course teaches the fundamentals of 2-point perspective drawing. Classes will be a mix of theory exercises in the classroom and drawing on location in the market.

Travel With Watercolours ONLINE (Tuesdays 2pm - 4:30pm | Inter/Adv)
A chance to travel the world this Summer through the magic of watercolours! Learn to paint exotic, beautiful landscapes from different parts of the world using various watercolour techniques. Along with watercolours, some tools like inks, pens, markers, pastels, etc. will be used to create the character, mood of the place and interesting textural effects. Both traditional and experimental styles of watercolour handling will be explored in this ONLINE course.

Paintings will be done from photographs, provided by email along with some drawings and information on techniques to be used 2 days prior to the online class. Step by step demonstration and individual guidance will be provided.

Prerequisites: Basic drawing and watercolour experience is required as this is an Intermediate/Advanced class.
