Course Description:
This workshop is intended as an introduction to the topic of public art commissions.  Adrian will begin with a presentation of his own work to demonstrate the inter-relationship of his studio practice to the public art process. The class will then examine some famous and controversial public art pieces around the world. A public art opportunity in Ottawa from a few years ago will then be presented, and the workshop attendees will break into small groups, develop a concept for the public art opportunity, and then they pitch it to the class. The workshop is intended to be animated, fun and informative.
