The Arctic Council’s Youth Art Contest 2015

Young people of the Arctic region showed off their artistic talents in the Arctic Council’s Youth Art Contest 2015…

During Canada’s chairmanship, the Arctic Council challenged the young people of the Arctic region to show off their artistic talents in the Arctic Council’s Youth Art Contest 2015. Contestants were invited to create an original two-dimensional artwork in any medium, with the exception of photography, under the theme “Development for the People of the North”. Eligible participants were between the ages of 18 and 25 and residents of an Arctic state.

A total of 20 different artworks from across the Arctic region were submitted to the contest.  The pieces were judged on their creativity, interpretation of the theme, and quality of composition.
