DeSerres Adopt-an-Art-Student Scholarship Program Winner Announced

An innovative partnership for the benefit of students at the Ottawa School of Art

November 19, 2015 (Ottawa, ON) DeSerres and the Ottawa School of Art (OSA) are pleased to announce the winner of this year’s DeSerres Adopt-an-Art-Student Scholarship Program. We will be announcing the  ‘adopted’ first year diploma student from the OSA on Monday November 23, 2015 at 11:00 am at the DeSerres store located at the St. Laurent Shopping Centre.
Many talented first year students at OSA face financial hardship when they begin their studies. DeSerres has agreed to provide an annual scholarship in the form of monthly support to a student enrolled for a minimum of one year in a full time program (Portfolio Development Program or 3-year Diploma Program) at OSA. DeSerres’ support is loosely based (and with tongue in cheek) on the concept of adoption, as used by the Foster Parent Plan, etc.
The selected student will receive $1200 to be put towards their tuition and 8 DeSerres gift certificates of $50 to help with the materials and art supplies. The goal is to provide the “adopted” art student with financial and material support during the academic year. In addition, the adopted student will have the opportunity to display selected work on an ongoing basis in a prominent location in the DeSerres St. Laurent Shopping Centre store. This will serve both as a public venue for the student’s artwork as well as a window on the progress for the interested public.

DeSerres and the Ottawa School of Art extend a warm invitation to you to be present for this momentous announcement and to meeting the ‘adopted’ student.
