Artist Statement
A colourful collection of city life scenes, these urban and suburban
paintings depict the eclectic feel of metropolitan life and the hustle
and bustle of human interaction on a personal level.
Biography
Claudia Urbach is an Ottawa artist; her work encompasses series of
figures and cityscapes in oil. Claudia has a BFA (honours) with a
major in painting from the University of Windsor and a B.Ed. from
the University of New Brunswick in Art Education. A passion for
painting is evident in her use of intense colours and vivid imagery.
Her city scenes depict personal experiences that bring an eclectic,
vibrant feel to the canvas.
In 2012 Claudia was interviewed by Sterling Lynch at Rogers
Television for a segment on the ‘Artisans’ show; in addition, she
won two awards through the Ottawa Art Association for her
paintings, “Darrelle London, Algonquin College Theatre,”(2nd
Place) and “Autographs, Pierre Bouvier—Simple Plan—Juno Fan
Fare 2012”, (Honourable Mention).
