Beadworking workshop and summer academy

S15SWS02 Metis Beadwork Jaime

Did you know that specialty summer courses and workshops for adults were offered downtown but also in Orleans?
Saviez-vous que des cours et ateliers spécialisés étaient offerts cet été tant au centre-ville qu’à Orléans?

As an example, in Orleans on July 18, let’s try some Metis Beadwork with Jaime Koebel for a unique 1-day workshop.
Jaime’s style embraces traditional aspects of Métis beadwork, with her own flare of contemporary imagery. The combination of individual beaded plants, flowers, and roots are linked together to make a beautiful image and an amazing story. Jaime explains the traditions and meanings of the plants to students as they create a small beadwork piece. All materials included. This workshop is supported by the ARTicipate Endowment Fund Grant.

Jaime Koebel is a Métis artist born in Edmonton, Alberta. A visual artist, dancer and a vocal advocate for Aboriginal and Metis organizations, Jaime is currently completing a Masters of Arts degree with a focus on the healing and health benefits of Metis cultural dance.
